also the Ensamble is too expensive compared with the Motu MK3 features!!Īll Apogee doesn't support aggregate device and this is one of the major issue that makes me out to buy it I'm now waiting for the new MK3 that comes very soon in my Recording Studio 🙂Īpogee Duet is little more than a toy for my needs with its -10db-vu output and Clock sync limitation I'm working with Motu interfaces from 2001 (I have also a Motu MK1 that works fine) It really didnt sound as good as what is out today. The MOTU 828 Mk II is a robust rackmountable audio interface that features two combination mic and instrument inputs, eight rear-mounted line level inputs and outputs, MIDI I/O, SPDIF digital and ADAT optical I/O, wordclock and SMPTE sync, and LED based metering. Hesitant to buy another product from them.My 828mk2 is resting in my garage, gathering dust and I really not interested in trying to get it working again. Motu also has the mk3 out but, after my 828mk2 died, I was a little say goodbye to erratic behavior andĬheck out the Ensemble or a Duet. This has turned out to be the best sound I have had recording desktop style. MOTUs own software, such as Digital Performer, bypasses ASIO and talks to the interface directly, though a control panel providing the same options is used to set the.

Can anyone tell me the reason why i should spend the extra bucks on th 896HD or why i should. Motu 828 Mk2 Trial Version Of In order to qualify the suckiness of the MOTU, I put together a little midi sequence of drums and synths in my trial version of ableton live and sent the resulting wav file in and out of the interface for five passes of conversion at 44.1 khz and 88.2 khz sampling rates (24 bit). I know the 896HD has 8 preamps and the MK2 only has two, this is one of the main reasons i want to 896HD the most. can anyone help me decide, what is the big difference, in stability, noise (heard alot about power supply noise on the MK2). Note that if I got the FF 400 I'd hopefully add a nice pre to it at some indeterminant time in the future. MOTU 828 Mk2 or 896HD: I really want the cheaper one(828mk2). I'd go for the FF 800 - but can't quite justify the price at the moment. With that price differential I could almost get a Sebatron VMP 1000e and a MOTU 828 Mk II for the same price as the FF. It probably won't sound as good as the FF400, but I have found a really really good price for it - about $700 AUD (about $530 US) cheaper than the Fireface 400. So I am also looking at the MOTU 828 MkII. I imagine it would be as stable (same driver) and have great latency, but maybe not sound as good (no reviews yet unfortunately). I had just about decided to buy a fireface 400 - however I have since realised the converters aren't the same as the 800 (specs are different). Anyway, I'm sick of reading, its time to buy.
